With God’s Help

I started “grounding” my four year-old.  It just means no entertainment, ie. DVD’s, TV, games,  for the duration of the punishment.  I started it after her older cousin was grounded and she thought it was something to avoid.  It works very well, especially when a time out is not practical, like when we are in a store.

The other evening my husband and I “grounded” her for the rest of the night on the car ride home.  She started asking what she could do to get out of being grounded.  My husband replied that there was nothing to do except wait for the next morning.  After proposing several ideas we rejected, she thought for a couple of minutes and then said, “I know how I can not be grounded. . . with help of God and the love of Jesus.”  Then, she began to pray.  How can a parent argue with that?
